San Juan Bautista Community Track

Why a Track?

Safety, health and fitness

San Juan Elementary School, located in historic San Juan Bautista, is rich in California history, agriculture and students who love to run, but no running track.  

Currently, students and their families who love to run can only run the backroads of San Juan Bautista, along with cars, large trucks and farm equipment.  This is not safe.  Help the San Juan Home and School Club build a running track in town, accessible to the entire community! 

A group of teachers, parents, alumni, and community members have come together to raise funds for a track that will serve students during school hours and the entire community during non-school hours. We have raised $341,435 from 202 individual donors, but we need more support to meet our goal. We have secured a $100,000 Matching Grant and our community matched it!  We are looking for sponsors to help make our dream a reality. 

How can I help?

We need to raise $387,000 to fund:

– 1/8 mile decomposed granite track W/100 meter Straightaway
– Updated irrigation
– Improved interior soccer field

Aidan Castaneda "Runs for Funds"

San Juan School student and runner Aidan Castaneda loves to run. 

He and his family run on the back roads around San Juan, constantly keeping an eye out for cars and large trucks, so he is very aware of the need for safety when running and exercising.  

Aidan is so committed to helping create a safe place for people to run. He has personally raised $21,485 for the running track fund!
